Early trials of the colon capsule technology of the SCOTCAP project were led by NHS Highland and Corporate Health International, based at Inverness Campus.

The Scottish Capsule Programme (SCOTCAP) evaluation project is an integral part of the national redesign of gastroenterology services in Scotland. It enables early and effective testing in the community for Gastroenterology Symptoms, avoiding unnecessary referrals for hospital outpatient appointments.

It is part of the Scottish Government’s Modernising Patient Pathways Programme and is led by DHI.
